NOAH MANUEL

Co-Director

Originally from Miramichi, New Brunswick, Noah can now be found in Fredericton pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of New Brunswick. Noah is an enthusiast of all things that involve conspiracy, cool scientific things, or promotes positive self-identity. He is passionate about opening up the dialogue surrounding things that impact our mental health, both on an individual scale and in a big-picture kind of way. Having a brother who lives with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder, Noah has always been interested in the way our brain affects our every-day life. He is passionate about bringing people into the conversation on being a better ally to those who don’t benefit from the same type of access and privilege.

SARAH LIBERTY

Co-Director

Sarah is in her final year of a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology, Minor in Sociology, and certificate in Family Violence Issues. Coming from the rural town of Kingston, NB, Sarah has seen the negative effects that a lack of resources and low awareness around mental health can have. Jack.org has allowed Sarah to further pursue her passion for mental health, become actively involved within the mental health community, and advocate change with likeminded individuals.

ALISHA HATHI

Public Relations Director

Alisha is a third-year arts/science student perusing a double major in Math and English. Alisha comes from a small town in Nova Scotia where mental health is not talked about as much as it should be. This sparked Alisha to want to create a change not only in her hometown, but wherever she goes. Alisha has a passion for getting the conversations around mental health started and will have them with anyone who is around.

MARIA OAKES

Delegate Director

Maria Oakes is a fourth year Bachelor of Arts student in honours English with a history minor. Maria, being a student, understands the immense pressures put on students in many areas of their every day lives that affects mental health. Through seeing those close to her struggle with mental illness, it has inspired her to get involved with mental health advocacy and continue to break the stigma regarding mental health. Being able to be part of Jack.Org has allowed Maria to advocate for a cause that is so important to her.

JILLIAN CARSON

Financial Director

Two hours away in a small New Brunswick town is where Jillian grew up and was sheltered from the opportunity to develop the knowledge and passion she has today around mental health awareness. Jillian is now a second year arts student at UNB who is determined to learn more about all the pieces of the mental health puzzle. While learning more, she is also determined to contribute to the mental health revolution in Canada and end the negative stigma around mental health that she experienced growing up.

GRACE PELKEY

Planning Director

Grace was born and raised in Fredericton and is currently in her third year at the University of New Brunswick where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Grace has a strong passion for creating conversations around mental health to help educate those around her about how to be there for themselves and others. Grace hopes that through positive conversations we can learn to be more accepting of each other’s differences and breakdown stigmas surrounding mental health.

KEELY MARTIN

Delegate Director

Keely is in her final year of her BA degree at UNB, where she is honouring in Psychology and English. Coming from Ottawa, ON Keely knows how difficult it can be for students who have moved away from home not only for one’s mental health, but also in finding support and services needed. Keely is interested in helping break the barriers that prevent people from getting the services they deserve. Through Jack.org Keely has become increasingly aware of what UNBF is lacking and hopes to help alleviate or at least bring attention to these issues.

SARAH MACISAAC

Logistics Director

Sarah is in her second year studying a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Neuroscience. She comes from a small town in Nova Scotia where mental illness is still stigmatized. Having multiple people in her life affected by mental illness, she became actively involved in Jack to start the conversation.
